R. Kelly allegedly conspired to falsify materials and pay off victims in prior case.
R. Kelly, who is currently serving a 30-year sentence for abusing young fans
in New York after his 2021 conviction, has been found guilty on 13 charges in Chicago for producing and receiving child pornography as well as coercing minors into sexual activities.
During the trial, the jury had to watch portions of an explicit video involving a 14-year-old girl. In 2008, Kelly was acquitted of 21 counts of child pornography after he allegedly conspired to falsify material and pay off victims. The minor in the video, who is now 30 years old, testified that Kelly try to pay them off.
Kelly's current sentence leaves him ineligible for release until he is at least 80 years old. Many people feel as though his crimes should be left in the past.
Tribe, what do you think? Is R. Kelly finally getting what he deserves, or is there something else at play?
